We’re a literary community, not a public platform. We manually review each directory profile to make sure members meet our eligibility guidelines and to protect the integrity of the space. It’s not about gatekeeping—it’s about care for your privacy. This step helps us maintain a trusted network for writers and artists.

The directory is visible only to current, vetted RAWI members in good standing. It is not indexed by search engines and does not appear publicly online. Your information stays within the community. MembershipWorks, our directory provider, is able to see data if they are fixing a problem, but their company abides by strict privacy rules.

Our membership platform uses secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) to transmit data and industry-standard security practices to protect stored information. Access to administrative data is limited to designated RAWI board members who need it for membership management.

Yes. You choose what information to include in your directory profile (if any), and you can update or remove it at any time. Required information is used for membership verification—you will have the option to opt out of listing yourself in the directory, if you wish.

RAWI does not store your credit card details. Payments are processed through a secure, third-party payment processor that specializes in encrypted financial transactions.

We retain basic membership records for administrative purposes. If you would like your directory profile removed, contact us; alternatively, you can opt out of being visible in the directory but still retain access to all member features. Hiding your profile or having us delete it are separate actions from opting out of our mailing list, so you’ll stay updated no matter what.
