SWANA Writers Caucus at AWP
This will be a town hall–style meeting, creating a much-needed space for SWANA writers to build and connect. The SWANA Caucus’s original scheduling was an in-person event in Room 302, Level 300, Baltimore Convention Center at 12:10 p.m. Eastern, and is now planned as an informal place to gather and network within AWP. However, the official Caucus event is now virtual and will be held the week following AWP. To join the official meeting, please email swanawriterscaucus @ gmail.com for details.
RAWI Monthly Board Meeting
The board will discuss board member assignments to committee work, Q2–Q4 programming, including potential fall virtual programming, and a preview of the RAWIFest 2027 planning timeline. Other topics TBD. Meeting time listed in Central Standard Time.
Arab American Heritage Month reading at the New York Public Library
In honor of Arab American Heritage Month and National Poetry Month, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library branch will host a reading by Lawrence Joseph, Maha Hashwi, Ghinwa Jawhari, and Kamelya Omayma Youssef. Time: 6:30–8:00 p.m. Eastern.
L.A. Book Launch: Mermaid Theory
Mermaid Theory book launch, with Maya Salameh, Summer Farah, and Elina Katrin, 7–9 p.m. Pacific Time. Food and refreshments provided. Proceeds support The Sameer Project. Meeting time listed in Pacific Daylight Time.
AWP Offsite: Hard Times Call for Furious Dancing
We are collaborating with the CityLit Project to create joy in movement on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 4MLK from 6:30–9:30 p.m. ET at 4MLK Biopark, just minutes from the Convention Center. We’re so excited about this event because it aligns closely with RAWI’s mission of building liberatory, generous literary community—especially around AWP.

RAWI Town Hall
This town hall is intended to open the channels of communication between RAWI's board and RAWI's members. We’ll discuss the future of RAWI, address member concerns and desires, and connect with our community. The RAWI board, in its newest iteration, is committed to active listening and growth. Your feedback and engagement is pivotal to shaping our next chapter.
